Spring time eating
One of the things I am most glad to see is the sign leading up to my office saying 'fresh cut asparagus.' A retired man sells bunches from his greenhouse every March and April and it definitely signals the beginning of spring, and the beginning of more interesting food.
There really is no point in buying asparagus out of season - its woody and has a strong cabbagey flavour that just isn't nice. Fresh asparagus is just lovely, tender and sweet.
By happy coincidence my colleagues hens have starting laying lots of eggs recently so she bought in some for us to take home.
I think I'll be back to grab some more asparagus before the short season is over, I spotted this Asparagus Pesto recipe over on Local Lemons which looks great.

spring walk
I took a walk today, so glad that spring has finally arrived properly. The sun is shining very bright today and lots of little daisies and daffodils are out. Looking forward to summer!

Thinking of Spring..
We've had a dusting of snow recently, with more forecast next week, but I just can't help thinking of Spring right now!

I have redesigned some old favourites, these Kiwi Earrings, now in beautiful golden brass (they were previously in copper), and the earwires are handmade by me.
I think these beads look like Jolly Ranchers, don't you? :)

Spring

It feels distinctly summery today, I think Spring is giving way. Its been a beautiful Spring so far, very text book. I am sure the summery weather will give way to rain soon but today it definitely feels like the start of a long summer. I am even wearing a skirt AND short sleeves - !!

Late spring..
The daffodils are now gone from the garden and it was looking a little bit bleak for a while but now we have tulips!
I picked some gorgeous pink and red blooms from the garden today and they are just lovely, they've given me some inspiration for some earrings in the same colour too.

Catch up blog!
I've been busy filling up my shop this week and playing around with snazzy cameras.. so this is a pictorial catch up!
Some new items:

Aqua - sterling silver earrings made with gorgeous sea blue trumpet beads

Spring Snow - milky white briolettes hung from sterling silver.
I had a go on an SLR camera the other day, sadly not mine to keep though, and i was so impressed with the pictures I might have to start saving up.
If you scroll down to a couple of entries ago there is a picture of some blossom in my garden, using my usual camera. Now look how it turned out using this SLR...
Amazing, the colours are so lovely, I might frame this.
I also got a Treasury this week and filled it with delicate and airy things to match the spring weather we've been having (at last!).

Hopefully i will be back soon with more new items! :)
